Health Sciences Building School of Pharmacy & School of Nursing

The Health Sciences Building provides instructional, research, and administrative and support spaces for the School of Pharmacy and the School of Nursing, as well as shared support facilities for the Hospital Hill Campus. The new building coordinates the disparate components of the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy into a new, combined Health Sciences facility, thus addressing previous space deficiencies and anticipated future growth, while creating an interactive and interdisciplinary Health Sciences Community.

The laboratory spaces adhere to modular design principles developed from benchmark criteria for academic research workstations, aisles, and equipment dimensions. This kind of modular design and planning provides flexibility: as requirements change and technology improves, future research needs can be accommodated in later designs; the building will adapt. The project offers a mixture of finished and shell space to maximize the building area and ensure its future versatility.
