University of Wyoming College of Business

Located on a prominent site in the center of the campus, this project incorporates a new addition, along with renovation, to the existing College of Business. The central design concept was the creation of a strong north-south axis, serving to strengthen the connection between old and new parts of campus: Prexy’s Pasture, to the north, and Ivinson Street to the south.

The program components of the new building are organized around a generous central indoor space: the atrium. Offering practical value by bringing light into the new building, the atrium also grants the opportunity for various programs to meet, discuss, and exchange ideas in an atmosphere that promotes openness and collaboration. Some significant components of the new building include Multimedia and Open Labs, a Trading Room, a 150-seat tiered classroom, and the Deans Suite.

The design creates two new entrances with courtyards along a vibrant walkway, welcoming students to the addition. The building’s mass respects the existing Cole Library while putting forward an exciting new face to the entire community.
